Newport police are conducting alcohol sales compliance checks
The Newport Police Department announced that it will be conducting alcohol sales compliance checks for the next two weeks. During these checks, underage decoys will attempt to buy alcohol from business licensed by the State of Oregon and monitored by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) and local law enforcement officers.
Missing Sherwood man found dead in vehicle down embankment on Oregon 99W
A state police spokesman said a truck driver stopped by the Dundee Fire Department saying he saw a car down a 25-foot embankment in heavy brush along Oregon 99W. Emergency officials found the male driver, Richard Smith, dead inside.
